Photography

  • Monitor mode button is next to the viewfinder. Looks like an eye. Cycles through different ways that the monitor and viewfinder operate together.
  • Has custom function buttons near the lens. Set them to what you like. Go to Menu, then the pencil icon, which is custom settings, then f (Controls), then Custom controls (shooting)
  • Vibration reduction (like image stabilization but through the lens) is through the Photo shooting menu, it seems to be on by default.

Dials

  • Main command dial is the rear one
  • Sub-command dial is the front one

Aperture mode

  • In A mode, adjust Aperture via the front dial. Set to Auto ISO (suggested 3200 max ISO, since it’s a APS-C camera, see Low Light Photography)
  • To adjust ISO, hold down the ISO button and move the rear dial.
